The MaxX 2a from FBT is a 2-way bi-amped loudspeaker/floor monitor with a 10 inch custom B&C woofer and 1 inch horn. And unlike most other 10" speakers out there, the MaxX 2a packs some serious punch for such a small, lightweight speaker. You can actually HEAR bottom end that doesn't break up, all while still maintaing the smooth, crisp mids and highs that we're all used to with any one of FBT's models.
The active internal crossover is at a fixed frequency of 1.8k. With a frequency range of 50Hz - 20kHz, the Maxx 2a provides hi fidelity sound for both speech and music applications with a maximum SPL of 121 dB. FBT’s ADAP Advanced Dynamic Active Protection circuitry protects speaker/driver components against failure. The Bi amplified Maxx 2a active speaker features a 200 watt RMS Class AB low frequency amp, and a 50 watt RMS Class AB high frequency amp. The control panel features a master volume control, preamp gain control, 3 band EQ with +- 15dB of cut/boost at 80Hz LF, 12 dB of cut/boost at 2.5k Midrange and +- 15 db cut/ boost at 10kHz, a balanced Neutrik input combo jack (female XLR,1/4 inch TRS, 1/4 inch), balanced XLR link output jack, microphone / line input switch, and ground lift switch, LED power on and separate HF and LF overload LED indicators.
The Two M-10 fly points built into the cabinets, along with the optional Box 102 mounting brackets allow the Maxx 2a speakers to be surface mounted on walls or ceilings. A standard speaker stand socket allows the Maxx 2a to be mounted on speaker stands
