Roland TD-30KV V-Drum Kit Roland TD-30K Electronic V-Drum Kit
The Roland TD-30KV is the much anticipated replacement for the TD-20SX kit. The TD-30 module is a new design for 2012 and uses SuperNATURAL sounds with Behavior Modeling, along with advanced sensing technology to provide a new level of realism and playability for electronic drums. USB audio-playback functionality has also been added as well as USB to MIDI. There is also a dedicated ambience fader to play with room ambience and overhead mic placement.

On the drums the snare has a new rim sensor designed with the TD-30 to best replicate the needs of drummers. All the pads feature a new look for 2012 with a black chrome shell wrap. Physically they look similar to the last model with top and bottom lugs and an overall realistic look to them. The snare is snare stand mountable and the toms mount to the rack.

For cymbals the VH-13-MG is a new V-Hi-Hat which features an improved motion sensor and combined with the TD-30 will give a more natural smooth open and closed hi hat control. The cosmetics are a little different as well with a metallic gray finish. The CY-14C-MG, and CY-15R-MG are matching crashes and ride look the same as the new VH-13-MG.

The kick is the  KD-140-BC V-Kick. This also features the black chrome shell wrap but is otherwise the KD-140 from last years model which was a great kick drum and very solid.


The TD-30K is a new kit from Roland for 2012. It features the new TD-30 V-Drum module along with some familiar components for the drums and cymbals. The rack is the MDS-12V and the toms are the new PDX-100 10" mesh pads. The snare is PD-125BK which mounts to the rack. It is much like last years TD-12KX kit in the setup and size of drums. The kick drum is the KD-120BK.  The cymbals are VH-11 for hi hat, CY-12C for the two crashes and CY-13R for the ride. Overall it's basically the TD-12KX kit with a TD-30 module for about the same price as that kit.
