After about a half hour with the manual I was able to get our band all plugged in sounding decent. Our drummer uses and electric kit, so we were able to plug it directly into the mixer, all of our guitarists us direct boxes, Line 6 PODs or a preamp, all of which plug in nicely as well. We have three mics that plug in using XLR connections. All of the connections are easy to use and the controls are laid out well.
The unit is very solid, and I have had no problems lugging it around to our practice space and to shows. I do have it mounted in a rack which I strongly recommend to keep it out of harm's way.
Here is where a more expensive mixer probably shines. Functionally, the unit does everything I expect it to do, but the quality of the internals lacks a bit. There is some audible hum in the output, and I don't find the compressor or equalizers particularly useful. The hum can be a bit annoying when used in the practice space, but during live shows it is not noticeable.
